The boat show, organised by IDI and BYBA, equals last year’s attendance number with more than 32,000 visitors
The Palma International Boat Show has become an essential commercial event for the nautical companies exhibiting, as can be seen from the figures of the survey carried out by the organisers among the exhibitors. According to the data, 96 % of the participants want to repeat at the next edition, and of these, more than 20 % ask for more space. For the organisers, this high rate of loyalty is proof of the success of the event that closed its doors last Sunday in Palma’s Moll Vell.
More than 32,000 people visited the boat show during the four days it lasted, thus equalling last year’s figures. One aspect highlighted by some of the exhibitors is the profile of the visitors, who were very interested in learning about and buying the products and boats on display. The Palma International Boat Show is organised by the Institute for Business Innovation of the Balearic Islands (IDI), an entity dependent on the Vice-Presidency and Regional Ministry of Energy Transition, Productive Sectors and Democratic Memory, and the Balearic Yacht Brokers Association (BYBA).
This year the boat show has had 271 participating companies and more than 600 boats on display, more than 250 at sea, in a fairground of more than 81,000 square meters. It was an edition characterised by the presentation of new models of yachts and products from all over the world, and by the large presence of sailing boats, the most sustainable option for sailing. Environmentally friendly boats and nautical equipment were also the protagonists, as well as innovation in the nautical sector thanks to the Yachting Ventures Innovation Corner.
The Palma International Boat Show once again hosted the Palma Superyacht Village, a section specially designed for acquiring or buying boats over 24 metres in length, both sailing and motor boats. The Palma Superyacht Village featured an area specialising in boat repair and maintenance, known as refit&repair, with the participation of more than 20 leading companies in the nautical industry, as well as service companies located in other areas of the Village.

It should also be remembered that the Marcial Sánchez Barcáiztegui award went to the Marilles Foundation, which has been recognised for the work it carries out to conserve and raise awareness of the preservation of the sea, especially its efforts to minimise the environmental impact of human activity in the sea, highlighting the value of artisanal fishing as a sub-sector of fishing that generates the most jobs and is the most environmentally friendly. This award is given by the fair to people or institutions that have contributed through their business, social, environmental or sporting role to the promotion of the nautical sector in all its aspects.
